The Littleton Public School district contracts solely with Metro State for alternative teacher licensure through their TiR (Teacher in Residence) and CASEL (Colorado Accelerated Special Education Licensure) programs. Here is the process an applicant for alternative licensure must follow:

1. A review of your official transcripts must be completed by the Director of Human Resources or by CDE (CDE issues a Statement of Eligibility or SOE). You must meet all subject area requirements before entering the program.

2. Take and Pass the PRAXIS II or PLACE test for the endorsement area of interest. Go to www.place.nesinc.com for more specific information on PLACE exams. The web address for the PRAXIS II exams is: www.ets.org/praxis/prxaboutII.html.

3. Complete an on-line Littleton Public School teacher application. Go to www.littletonpublicschools.net Attach your completed application to all jobs of interest to you. Attach transcripts, reference letters, resume, etc., per directions.

4. Obtain an interview for a teaching position at one of our schools. Jobs are posted on the LPS website at www.littletonpublicschools.net

5. Obtain a teaching contract at one of our schools.

6. Upon obtaining a teaching contract, candidates then enroll in the Metro State TIR/CASEL Program. The school district provides the application forms at that time.
