 | Littleton Public Schools is committed to increasing achievement levels for every student.
Students in Littleton Public Schools continue to achieve at high levels. LPS students rank in the top four of Denver metro area district in all subjects and at all grade levels tested by the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP). 75% of LPS schools were assigned a rating of "high" or "excellent" by the Colorado Department of Education. 25% were rated "average". No LPS schools were rated "low" or "unsatisfactory." As a district, LPS met or exceeded 131 of 135 Adequately Yearly Progress benchmarks for a 97% success rate.
But, over the last few years, LPS student scores on tests like the CSAP have become flat. We believe that our higher achieving students can do even better and that our lower achieving students are falling further behind.Littleton Public Schools is tackling this issue aggressively. Increasing achievement levels is a major component of the Board of Education's Strategic Plan. In addition, the district has made a commitment to a bold student achievement initiative. We believe that all students can achieve at high levels. And, in order to make that possible, changes needed to be made. | |
